Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010
Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.
Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

As Eclipse has already broken the widest opening net ever, previous held by Iron Man 2, we can safely say that this is just the beginning of records that Twilight Eclipse will be breaking, or potentially shattering! With 193 IMAX openings, Eclipse fell only 1 short of topping the record held by Shrek Forever After, which has destroyed the box-office lately (along with Toy Story 3), and now has finally met a worthy challenger.

Being released on Thursday, The Last Airbender, Paramount Pictures hopes that the mass-appeal of the Avatar cartoon franchise will bring in a larger audience over the weekend, once the Twi-hards have already seen Eclipse (for the 7th time!!). The Last Airbender and Twilight Eclipse have both received a majority of glowing reviews from fans and professional movie critics alike. The main disadvantage for Airbender, and this is crucial, is that it is opening in only around 3,000 locations tomorrow. That means Eclipse has 25% of the market on lock, opening in over 4,400 locations. So the war is eminent, victory is uncertain, but we say advantage Eclipse.

Twilight Eclipse News: Updates – June 26, 2010 Just two weeks ago we educated you on the history of the Twilight Saga, and enlightened on on the latest rumors and gossip of New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Fashion Wire Daily summed up the event nicely calling it a ‘controlled madness‘.. in which we would not expect anything else when you bring thousands of devoted fans together!
New Twilight Eclipse IMAX Preview Well, what can we say… Eclipse in IMAX will be incredible! Twilight Eclipse will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology, as stated at the IMAX website. This is big news as this is the first time in the series that Twilight will be shown in IMAX. Check out a preview below:

Eclipse is ‘Guy-Friendly’? Yes, we know.. you’re saying ‘hey.. I’m a dude, I like action, girls, and more action… how can Twilight Eclipse possibly fulfill this’? Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!

So.. what else is going on out there with Twilight Eclipse?
Eclipse is ‘Guy-Friendly’? Yes, we know.. you’re saying ‘hey.. I’m a dude, I like action, girls, and more action… how can Twilight Eclipse possibly fulfill this’? Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!
Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010
Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.
Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Eclipse is ‘Guy-Friendly’? Yes, we know.. you’re saying ‘hey.. I’m a dude, I like action, girls, and more action… how can Twilight Eclipse possibly fulfill this’? Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.
Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

With 193 IMAX openings, Eclipse fell only 1 short of topping the record held by Shrek Forever After, which has destroyed the box-office lately (along with Toy Story 3), and now has finally met a worthy challenger.

Being released on Thursday, The Last Airbender, Paramount Pictures hopes that the mass-appeal of the Avatar cartoon franchise will bring in a larger audience over the weekend, once the Twi-hards have already seen Eclipse (for the 7th time!!). It will certainly be an interesting weekend.. and we are excited to see how it plays out! The Last Airbender and Twilight Eclipse have both received a majority of glowing reviews from fans and professional movie critics alike. The main disadvantage for Airbender, and this is crucial, is that it is opening in only around 3,000 locations tomorrow. Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Fashion Wire Daily summed up the event nicely calling it a ‘controlled madness‘.. in which we would not expect anything else when you bring thousands of devoted fans together!

Twilight Eclipse will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology, as stated at the IMAX website. This is big news as this is the first time in the series that Twilight will be shown in IMAX. Check out a preview below:

Eclipse is ‘Guy-Friendly’? Yes, we know.. you’re saying ‘hey.. I’m a dude, I like action, girls, and more action… how can Twilight Eclipse possibly fulfill this’? Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Fashion Wire Daily summed up the event nicely calling it a ‘controlled madness‘.. in which we would not expect anything else when you bring thousands of devoted fans together!

In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!

Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.
Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Fashion Wire Daily summed up the event nicely calling it a ‘controlled madness‘.. in which we would not expect anything else when you bring thousands of devoted fans together!

Twilight Eclipse Premiere – 6/25 Twi-hards—the die-hard Twilight fans—flocked in from all over the world over the past week in hopes of getting a glympse of the Eclipse actors, whom strolled along the fitting black carpet on Friday into the Twilight Premiere. Up to 9,000 fans were issued wristbands to see the premiere, with 550 early-birds guaranteed a spot on the black carpet (which is usually red!). Fans lucky enough to get a spot on the carpet most certainly deserved it, as some flew 1000s of miles just for the premiere and camped out to be assured a spot. Fashion Wire Daily summed up the event nicely calling it a ‘controlled madness‘.. in which we would not expect anything else when you bring thousands of devoted fans together!
New Twilight Eclipse IMAX Preview Well, what can we say… Eclipse in IMAX will be incredible! Twilight Eclipse will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology, as stated at the IMAX website. This is big news as this is the first time in the series that Twilight will be shown in IMAX. Check out a preview below:
So.. what else is going on out there with Twilight Eclipse?
Eclipse is ‘Guy-Friendly’? Yes, we know.. you’re saying ‘hey.. I’m a dude, I like action, girls, and more action… how can Twilight Eclipse possibly fulfill this’? Well, Summit Entertainment (the studio behind the saga) as well as some notable Twilight Stars (such as Taylor Lautnerwho plays Jacob) are convinced Twilight Eclipse is guy friendly. In fact, the most guy friendly movie so far in the series. How is this possible? Well, they have brushed aside all the lovey-dovey talk and replaced this with more action, with climatic battle scenes between werewolfs and vampries. We are still not convinced that your average guy will approve, and do not think it is much more than a teen-romance movie still.. but none-the-less a couple action scenes here and there would keep our attention span to survive the movie. Our hopes is that Breaking Dawn will be even more action, although since it is an adaptation, we aren’t going to be getting our hopes up!
Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010
Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.
Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.
Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.
For all the Twi-hards out there, the buzz intrigued, and your average movie-goer — today is a day of rejoicing! At midnight Wednesday morning, Twilight Eclipsewas unleashed in 4,416 locations, with more expected to be added Friday.
Eclipse to Make History
The record number of theaters shown, previous held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is only 39 locations away from being broken. Yet another early record to be broken by Twilight Eclipse! As Eclipse has already broken the widest opening net ever, previous held by Iron Man 2, we can safely say that this is just the beginning of records that Twilight Eclipse will be breaking, or potentially shattering! With 193 IMAX openings, Eclipse fell only 1 short of topping the record held by Shrek Forever After, which has destroyed the box-office lately (along with Toy Story 3), and now has finally met a worthy challenger.
Will The Last Airbender Put Up a Fight? Being released on Thursday, The Last Airbender, Paramount Pictures hopes that the mass-appeal of the Avatar cartoon franchise will bring in a larger audience over the weekend, once the Twi-hards have already seen Eclipse (for the 7th time!!). It will certainly be an interesting weekend.. and we are excited to see how it plays out! The Last Airbender and Twilight Eclipse have both received a majority of glowing reviews from fans and professional movie critics alike. The main disadvantage for Airbender, and this is crucial, is that it is opening in only around 3,000 locations tomorrow. That means Eclipse has 25% of the market on lock, opening in over 4,400 locations. So the war is eminent, victory is uncertain, but we say advantage Eclipse.

Well, now it is time to fill you on what we’ve missed — as we are now only 4 days away from the Twilight Eclipse Movie Release! And that means more trailers, more news, and more gossip!
