Film.fm Review — Instant Movies On Demand

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Selection Galore

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

Movies by Genre

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Overall Consensus: After an in-depth review of Film.fm we feel their site meets and surpasses all of our guidelines with minimal ads, easy to use and attractive design/interface, and a sizable movie database — Film.fm scores a 4.5/5!

Weekend Box Office – Eclipse vs. Airbender

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Continues to Break Records!

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Do not forget, this is ONE DAY of numbers!! We’ll no doubt be talking in the hundreds of millions by weekends-end. Go Eclipse go!

Film.fm Review — Instant Movies On Demand

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Selection Galore

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

Movies by Genre

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Overall Consensus: After an in-depth review of Film.fm we feel their site meets and surpasses all of our guidelines with minimal ads, easy to use and attractive design/interface, and a sizable movie database — Film.fm scores a 4.5/5!

Weekend Box Office – Eclipse vs. Airbender

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Continues to Break Records!

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Do not forget, this is ONE DAY of numbers!! We’ll no doubt be talking in the hundreds of millions by weekends-end. Go Eclipse go!

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Selection Galore

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

Movies by Genre

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Overall Consensus: After an in-depth review of Film.fm we feel their site meets and surpasses all of our guidelines with minimal ads, easy to use and attractive design/interface, and a sizable movie database — Film.fm scores a 4.5/5!

Weekend Box Office – Eclipse vs. Airbender

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Twilight Eclipse Opening Day Records and More!

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

Well, as we predicted in our previous Twilight Eclipse post, the third movie in the Twilight saga has continued to dominate the Box Office, all the while making history. After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Do not forget, this is ONE DAY of numbers!! We’ll no doubt be talking in the hundreds of millions by weekends-end. Go Eclipse go!

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

Movies by Genre

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Overall Consensus: After an in-depth review of Film.fm we feel their site meets and surpasses all of our guidelines with minimal ads, easy to use and attractive design/interface, and a sizable movie database — Film.fm scores a 4.5/5!

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.

After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

After earning a stunning $30 million just at the Tuesday midnight showings, Eclipse rallied on in full force to close out it’s opening day with a whopping Wednesday gross of $68.5 million. That is the single most grossed in a Wednesday opening, ever! But the records did not stop there!

Eclipse, as we said in our previous post, also will break the record for widest opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly, et al., as it already has the #2 spot right now.

Eclipse Sets a New IMAX Record

On Eclipse’s opening day, it grossed an estimated $1 million plus in IMAX. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking that does not seem like a big number. But Eclipse only opened in 193 IMAX theaters. That is $5,881 per theater. Granted not nearly as much per theater as the standard release, which we calculated at a staggering $15,984 per theater, but do remember IMAX offers a limited amount of showings, which obviously had every last seat filled! The million plus total edged out Transformers 2’s opening day total of $959,000, but in it’s defense, only opened in 169 screens. Interestingly, Transformers 2 had a close opening day also, nearly a year ago to the day, with an opening day of $60.6 million.

Do not forget, this is ONE DAY of numbers!! We’ll no doubt be talking in the hundreds of millions by weekends-end. Go Eclipse go!

Well, it’s been a while since we have found a movie site to review that passed our guidelines, but moreover really impressed us. Film.fm, a brand-new start-up in the online movies arena, has not only a large library of free films, but also integrates their movies nicely within the design — all the while offering social features to send or share movies with friends, family, and the world. What else has caught our eye?

Selection Galore

Whether you’re looking for the newest blockbusters of 2010 such as Twilight Eclipse, The Last Airbender, Robin Hood — or unforgettable classics such as The Killing, Sweet Smell of Success, or Guys and Dolls — they’ve got ‘em! Hundreds of thousands of Free DivX Movies from each decade from 1950 up until 2010.

Movies by Name/Cast

We did run into a little trouble trying to find a few lesser-known movies trying to find them by year, but this is where their search feature came in handy. While we knew we watch to watch the original Predator movie, for example, we were unsure on the release year for it so we had difficulties locating it within their database. So we did a search for the movie name and bam! success! We also tested searching for the main actors and were able to quickly find the classic movie predator.

Movies by Genre

So you don’t know what movie you want to watch online but you’re in the mood for an adventure? Well, whatever mood you’re in Film.fm has 24 different categories to choose, from Adult movies to Western movies you can quickly narrow you search to fit your needs to watch movies online.

Movies by Language
We did not need to use this feature, as all the movies we wanted to find were easily obtainable in English. But, if you’re looking to watch movies and have not been able to find new and old ones in different languages, Film.fm has your problem solved! With their language search feature you can see all the movies available in your native language and watch them right away for free!

Overall Consensus: After an in-depth review of Film.fm we feel their site meets and surpasses all of our guidelines with minimal ads, easy to use and attractive design/interface, and a sizable movie database — Film.fm scores a 4.5/5!

Weekend Box Office – Eclipse vs. Airbender

Weekend Recap – Box Office Results – July 2-4 2010

Wow, what a weekend! But, the results are in…and the winner is…. Eclipse! As we predicted, Eclipse has held its ground a edged out The Last Airbender for the #1 movie in the world this weekend. Interestingly grossing a total of $69 million over the weekend, which happens to be just half a million more than it’s one day opening total gross (yea, wow indeed!) — bringing the week 1 gross total now to $169 million.

Coming in second place, as expected, was M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which never really stood a chance in-part from getting very poor reviews from critics, but more from being released in 1,300 less theaters than Eclipse. Rotten Tomatoes gave Airbender an 8, making it the second lowest rated movie of the year, and to rub it in more both Twilight Eclipse and Toy Story 3 have each received very good reviews from critics and fans alike, and scored in the 90s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaking of Toy Story 3, it rounded out the weekend in a respectable third place with a gross just over $30 million and a collective 3 week gross of just under $300 million. Being the more of a family movie out of the big 3 this weekend, and looking at movies coming soon, we think it will continue to do well until Despicable Me comes out this Friday, which will steal likely take the #3 spot away from Toy Story 3 and move it down to the fourth spot.

Overall, no real shockers over the weekend, but when will Eclipse slow down remains to be seen, with a theater average of over $15,000 still being maintained since day 1.
